Wildfires in Greece – Golden Dawn volunteers help firefighters

Wildfires in Greece are, very sadly, a common occurrence. All summers, Greek forests and fields burn in both intentional and non-intentional (natural) wildfires.

Members of the Greek nationalist party Golden Dawn (Chrysi Avgi) usually help firefighters to extinguish the wildfires that spread throughout Greece.

Some of them are even members of the Forest Guard Volunteers Corps, which gathers Greek civilians who are willing to help the Firefighting squads when a wildfire occurs. Other, even more ecologically-minded members of Golden Dawn are also members of “Πράσινη Πτέρυγα” (Greek for ‘Green Wing’), a division within Golden Dawn which focuses on the study and caretaking of Greek nature.
